Welcome back, Heron Heights families, to another fantastic school year! After a rejuvenating and eventful summer, we are eager to reopen our doors and fill our halls with the vibrant energy of learning, love, and laughter.

We are delighted to announce that Heron Heights has once again achieved an “A” school rating, reflecting the unwavering dedication of our students, staff, and families. Adding to the excitement, we surpassed our science goal last year, soaring past our target of a 4% increase and achieving an astounding 15% gain in science scores! This accomplishment showcases the remarkable results we can achieve when we unite and work as a team.

This year, we continue our transformational journey with The Leader in Me, a comprehensive framework inspired by The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Through this initiative, students are empowered to discover their unique strengths, develop essential leadership and life skills, and cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and goal-setting. Each child at Heron Heights is seen as a leader, and we are dedicated to nurturing their growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

As the principal of Heron Heights, my passion for leadership and unwavering love for our students drive me to ensure that every student feels valued and supported. I am committed to fostering an environment where each child can thrive and reach their fullest potential.

As we begin another exciting school year at Heron Heights Elementary, I am thrilled to welcome both new and returning families to our school community. It is truly an honor to serve as your Assistant Principal, and I am deeply committed to helping every child thrive in a nurturing, positive, and engaging learning environment.

This year, we are especially excited to embark on our journey as a Leader in Me School. Through this empowering framework, we help students discover their individual strengths, take ownership of their learning, and develop essential leadership and life skills. We believe every child has the potential to lead and we’re proud to foster that potential in everything we do.

I also look forward to partnering with our talented teachers, dedicated staff, and supportive parents to create meaningful learning experiences for all students. Building strong relationships with our families is a top priority, and I firmly believe that when we work together, every child can reach their fullest potential.

Teamwork and innovation will continue to guide our efforts. I am committed to exploring new ways to support the diverse needs of our students and to strengthen communication with our families and community. I’m thrilled to join the Heron Heights Elementary family as your new Assistant Principal! From the moment I arrived, I could feel the energy, pride, and sense of purpose that make this such a special place.

As someone who has spent nearly two decades in education and who walked the halls of Broward County Public Schools as a student, I know just how powerful it is when a school and its community work hand in hand. Heron Heights reflects the very best of that partnership.

This school year holds exciting opportunities for growth, connection, and leadership. One initiative I’m especially excited about is the rollout of The Leader in Me program. Rooted in timeless principles, this approach focuses on helping students recognize their unique strengths, take initiative, and build essential life habits that extend far beyond the classroom. Our goal is to support every child not only as a learner, but as a leader ready to thrive in school and in life.
